We believe that having some school experience is extremely beneficial if you  are considering training to be a teacher: it allows you to see the nature of the role and make sure that it is right for you before you apply or undertake your training.  Getting some classroom experience can help you to decide whether teaching is right for you – it could also strengthen your application.  The Get Into Teaching website has a wealth of useful information including arranging visits in schools, more details about entry requirements and funding for your training.

To support potential applicants to gain this invaluable experience, BET Teacher Training offer one day School Experience visits to a selection of schools within our partnership.  These experience days are only open to candidates who are eligible to start teacher training programmes in September 2024.

We do not currently have any further School Experience Days planned.  However, if you would like to visit any of our schools please do get in touch and we would be happy to arrange this for you.

To register for more information or if you have any questions about our partnership schools or our school experience programme, please contact our team at teachertraining@bohunttrust.com

Please see our calendar to see the latest School Experience Days scheduled in many of our partnership schools.

Volunteering for after school or summer holiday youth groups is also an excellent way of gaining experience in working with children. Please contact your local school or LEA for more details.

Many of our trainees have also worked in a Learning Support or Cover Supervisor role in order to gain invaluable school experience prior to applying for our Initial Teacher Training programme.  Please check the school websites (find these on 'Our Partner Schools' page). or contact us directly for further support at teachertraining@bohunttrust.com
